NITE 2025
UPDATE – we have enough for 3 teams to attend!
We are now calling for expressions of interest for club members who want to be in a team at NITE in January 2025. Our club is running this event at Foxton on 10-12 January.
Teams consist of 4-6 riders who compete in the various phases over the two days. Each phase must be completed by four riders from each team…although a couple of the events allow everyone in the team to have a go and the highest scores count.
As a club we love taking a part in this competition as it is a whole lot of fun! You will need to be a current, active club member, and be committed to attending team practices (particularly if you wish to ride in the quadrille).
Phases for 2025
Riding club mount (obstacles)
Quadrille
Show jumping
Games
Formation jumping (jumping as a group of four)
(Possible fun event TBA)
If you are interested (or think you might be), please email our club address – kapitiridingclub@outlook.com to indicate that you would like to participate. Once we have a list, we will hold a riders meeting to further organise into teams etc
We will also be looking for helpers for the weekend. So if you think you might be available, please consider helping 🙂

What is NITE?
NITE (North Islands Team Event) is held annually to provide an opportunity for North Island Adult riding clubs to compete against each other.
NITE is organised through the New Zealand Riding Clubs and is open to Adult Riding Clubs that are affiliated with NZRC.
Clubs can submit as many teams as they wish. Teams consist of 4-6 riders who compete in the various phases over the two days. Each phase must be completed by 4 riders from each team.
Below are examples of phases that may occur;
- Team Turnout
- TNZRC Team Test
- Riding Club Mount (Obstacle Course)
- Quadrille (Themed Dressage)
- Working Hunter
- Show Jumping (Gambler Stakes)
For more information on NITE visit the New Zealand Riding Clubs website.
As a club we love attending this competition as it is a whole lot of fun, but it can cost up to $1000 to enter a team – consisting of entry fees / yarding / camping fees etc, so some fundraising will be required to cover these costs. You will also need to be a current, active club member, and be committed to attending team practices (particularly if you wish to ride in the quadrille), including formation jumping practice.
NITE 2015
This was held at Manfield in Feilding – a wonderful venue! KRC entered a team of six, but as always, we had a couple of extra members come as support crew. The event this year was run by the Manawatu Sadde Up club who did a fantastic job of organising and running the event. We all had a great time and of course are very proud of our 4th overall placing! (Just in case you’re wondering, our theme for the quadrille was Queens of the Desert!!)
