NITE 2022 – TRENTHAM RACE COURSE – JANUARY 8TH & 9TH
What is NITE (North Island Teams Event)?

NITE is a teams competition held annually to provide an opportunity for North Island Adult riding clubs to compete against each other.  NITE is organised through the New Zealand Riding Clubs and is open to Adult Riding Clubs that are affiliated with NZRC.

Teams consist of 4-6 riders who compete in the various phases over the two days.  Each phase must be completed by 4 riders from each team.

NITE 2022 phases are:
Show jumping (Top Score)
Riding Club Mount (obstacle course)
Quadrille
Prix Caprilli (basic dressage test with a couple of small jumps incorporated)
Team Formation Jumping.

As a club we love attending this competition as it is a whole lot of fun, but it can cost up to $1000 to enter a team – consisting of entry fees / yarding / camping fees etc, so some fundraising will be required to cover these costs.  You will also need to be a current, active club member, and be committed to attending team practices (particularly if you wish to ride in the quadrille), including formation jumping practice.

KRC will be sending a maximum of 3 teams consisting of 6 riders.  We will also have a ‘reserve’ list as every year we have needed to bring in ‘reserve’ riders due to injury etc.

We will be having a NITE meeting at Val Ballingers 156 Rangiora Road, Reikorangi on Friday 20 August at 7.30pm for all of those who wish to participate.  All club members are welcome to be a part of a team, so If you are interested in attending NITE 2022 with the KRC please answer the questions below which will help us provisionally organise some teams before the NITE meeting. Can we please have this information back by Tuesday 17th August.

NITE 2015

This was held at Manfield in Feilding – a wonderful venue!  KRC entered a team of six, but as always, we had a couple of extra members come as support crew.  The event this year was run by the Manawatu Sadde Up club who did a fantastic job of organising and running the event.  We all had a great time and of course are very proud of our 4th overall placing!  (Just in case you’re wondering, our theme for the quadrille was Queens of the Desert!!)
